TOTP Interview
2004.12.24. 21:00
TOTP: How do you feel? Natasha: I'm feeling very Christmassy. There's tinsel everywhere. I'm so in the Christmas mood, it's crazy!
TOTP: There's a good lineup of people to party with as well... Natasha: There is a lovely bunch of people. I've been travelling around with a lot of these guys with the summer roadshows and events so it's really nice to celebrate the end of year stuff with them.
TOTP: Have you brought your mistletoe? Natasha: No! I thought you were gonna bring that [laughs]. Aww! Bummer! I forgot. But Christmas isn't over yet is it so… There's a few more parties to go to, I'll bring some then.
TOTP: Do you feel the need for mistletoe when there's alcohol? Natasha: I think any encouragement to kiss someone is good. You sometimes just need an excuse don't you. I like the tradition of it. I think it's quite fun. And you can't blame someone either. If you're standing under the mistletoe and they kiss you it's not like it's their fault or anything.
TOTP: Do you get many fans kissing you? Natasha: Hmm... not really. People want hugs and things, or signatures, or to talk to me; more of that really. I'm sure they want to! I hope they do! I haven't had people trying.
TOTP: Do your fans get talking about their problems? Natasha: No a lot of the time they want to talk about me. They want to know more about other people. Sometimes they seem to be very nervous and that's such a weird thing because I'm such a normal person, I think. I love talking and some of those people don't think their life is very important to me, who's like jetting around and glamourous and all that. But really, we're all people and I just like chatting to people and finding out what they're interested in, what they're hobbies are and things like that.
TOTP: Do you get things sent to you by fans? Natasha: I do get some amazing things; gifts, sometimes nice cards and things, sometimes saying nice things about the music.
TOTP: Wasn't there some story about someone sending you a ring? Natasha: I wish that was true! If you've got any rings you lot, please send them! I'd love to receive a ring in the post. No, I didn't. Unless, they sent it to my record company and someone opened it and didn't tell me about it.
TOTP: Are you going to be with your family for Christmas? Natasha: Yep. I'm going back to New Zealand for Christmas. It's going to be amazing!
TOTP: And New Year? Natasha: I think I'll still be celebrating. I just need to relax. I need to take a bit of a breath. Everything has happened at once and it's all “Wow! Wow! Wow!” but none of it has sunk in yet. So I'm going to sit on the beach, getting a tan and prepare for the year ahead. My tour is coming up. I'm so excited because I've been singing here and there, you know, one or two songs and never getting to do the full thing and I'm just itching to do that.
TOTP: How are you going to prepare for that? Natasha: I work out a lot. I love working out. But I'm just gonna rehearse with the band. It's really about the music, and I really want to do something that I can be really proud of.
